Counseling Internships
Counselors are a valuable resource and an integral part of Holden’s staff. The ever-evolving Counseling Program supports, challenges and enriches the lives of the students, their families and the staff here. Interns and Trainees have the opportunity to work and learn with a supportive staff and with intriguing, questioning teenagers in an interdisciplinary community which emphasizes personal, social, creative and spiritual growth, as well as academic development.
We offer 1-2 year counseling internships for Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee and Interns. MFT interns and trainees have the opportunity to provide individual, group and family counseling. In order to facilitate continuity, a feeling of belonging and effective scheduling, we ask Counselors to commit to a minimum of 16 hours per week. Trainees’ hours spread out over 3 or 4 days, interns’ over 2, 3, or 4 days. Wednesdays are required for all.
